Supplement the 3 Rs in Your Homeschool with Nessy Learning!

Of all the things we homeschool parents teach our children, there is nothing that will make or break their future quite like the 3 Rs. 

Sure, it’s helpful for them to have the ability to locate their city on a map and to know the difference between solids, liquids, and gases, but when it comes down to it, reading, writing, and arithmetic really are the foundation that all other learning is based upon. Add to that the fact that one of my children deals with fine motor issues, and there can be no doubt that too much writing will not make for a happy homeschool.

Then we came across the Nessy Parent Pack by Nessy Learning.

For those of you who are familiar with my blog, you might remember that I posted a review of Nessy Reading and Spelling a couple of months back. As much as I absolutely loved that product, I was elated to find out about the Nessy Parent Pack.

Are there benefits to online learning like this?

 

Absolutely!

I’m not going to deny that I’ve got a slight aversion to technology, so allowing my kids to learn online is huge for me. It’s taken me some time to accept the fact that this is the 21st century, and kids just do things differently now than was I was a child.

Nessy Learning has opened my eyes to the value that screen technology does hold for developing kids. Need proof? Here is my 4 year old spelling- yes, spelling!

Not only is this program effective, but my kids absolutely love it! Between the comical animation, entertaining (but informative) videos, and creative games, my kids honestly can’t get enough of it. They can’t get enough of learning. Even my older kids have been after me to let them get in on the Nessy action, too.

I’d like to add this one caveat- don’t discount Yeti Mountain simply because your child is not dyslexic. Yeti Mountain is an amazing way for any child to work on spelling and memory skills.

And I have to admit that those yetis are pretty darn cute.

As for me? I love that it introduces and reinforces skills like letter sounds, spelling, punctuation, multiplication, memory work, and capitalization. Just today I heard my 6 year old daughter correcting her 9 year old brother on a multiplication problem that she learned from Nessy Numbers. He may not have been too happy about it, but I was ecstatic!
