Why School Is Not an Option for My Homeschooled Kids

School is a prison

As many of you are probably aware, I am no fan of the public education system

A while back, I decided to share with my readers seven reasons school is NOT an option for my kids. Recently, I have, again, become convicted to share how and why we came to this decision. This time, however, I decided I would publish it on YouTube instead of writing another blog post because, frankly, sometimes it’s just easier to get it all out when I’m talking.

Are you like that, too?

If you’re interested in hearing why I have such strong convictions about homeschooling, feel free to enjoy my video. Have a great weekend!

I’ve recently become aware of a fantastic organization that feels exactly the way I do about compulsory schooling. I urge you to check out their website at exodusmandate.org. It’s a treasure trove of information about Common Core and government schooling.

Most parents don’t even think about researching the history and intentions of public schooling. I beg you to at least look into it. You’ll be shocked.

I'm Shelly, a Christ-following, homeschooling Mom of eleven children ( okay, not ALL children. My oldest is 23.) I met my husband right after graduation, and we've been together ever since. Though my life can be hectic at times... okay, ALL the time, I wouldn't change it for anything.

  1. Amen, Shelly! I whole heartedly believe as you do. When my oldest two were in high school they finally confessed that it was a heavy burden for them to be in the school environment every day, day after day. They grew weary trying to stand for their morals and values against a constant barrage of profanity, immorality, violence, drug solicitations, indoctrination, etc. Our children deserve better.
