A few days ago, I happened to see a screenshot of some back-to-school advice that someone shared. Written specifically for the parents of those registering their kids for kindergarten, I have no reservations about the fact that the author meant well.
However.
I was appalled and astonished to see that this advice proved what I was saying the other week about the schools usurping parental authority This post, on the other hand, is suggesting that you hand it over willingly.
No usurpation required.
It’s getting crazy out there!

Great video, Shelly. I hope your message which speaks volumes of truth reaches the parents who need to hear it. True story- a teenage girl was forced by one of her teachers to read a very inappropriate poem in front of her class because that teacher decided she was “too innocent”. It was a disturbing and emotionally scarring experience for her. Her parents pulled her out and homeschooled her after that. Also, I hear parents in my neighborhood say their young children come home from school saying their teacher knows best and questioning their family values. It happens more than parents realize.
