Last year around this time, I wrote a post detailing 3 reasons to avoid overcompliance with state homeschool laws. Now that we’re heading into another homeschool year, I felt led to reiterate how important this is.
No matter how nice your school district is to you, if they are requesting information not required by your homeschool law, DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.
Here’s why.
Homeschooling and education are my passion. It is my fervent hope to one day devote more time to creating content for you. If you’re interested in helping to make this a reality, consider supporting me on Patreon.
Thank you so much. I appreciate each and every one of you!

My 5 yo grandbaby is going to a magnet academy, for Kg, in Aug. They sent home a book that was an inch thick, to do over the summer. I despise this school already. But my daughter insists on sending her there, “Because it’s the best school in the county.” Yet, she refused to do the homework with PP, and handed it to me to do on the weekends when we have the girls. We’ll see how long the school puts up with that. I want her to be hs so much. But, my daughter refuses. And due to my various illnesses, I can’t. I just pray for the babies, that God protects them.
