Science: Relaxed Homeschooling

Today is my last video in my Relaxed Homeschooling series…for now. Over the past few weeks I’ve shared how we approach language arts, math, and social studies. Today I’m tackling science.

Always remember that your child’s education need not look a thing like school. In fact, we don’t use any textbooks at all to cover social studies or science, the two main subjects that people feel chained to textbooks for.

I hope you gain some new ideas (if you’re looking for new ideas 😉)!

I'm Shelly, a Christ-following, homeschooling Mom of eleven children ( okay, not ALL children. My oldest is 23.) I met my husband right after graduation, and we've been together ever since. Though my life can be hectic at times... okay, ALL the time, I wouldn't change it for anything.

  1. Great video. I created my own curriculum for my 9 year old daughter with Autism. Science for us is library books on things she is interested in. We watch videos on YouTube and we just talk about things. She loves Nature Walks. I love not using text books.

  2. sorry for commenting at random. I came from “disabled” YouTube where you asked: Why homeschool? I care about education and we homeschool because it is the best place to learn efficiently. it is really 300-500% of what school can do. We love it. thank you for lovely videos
