Wanna Know WHY You Can’t Handle Your Kids??

After reading multiple posts and comments about people who are completely frantic over having to be with their kids, I felt led to make this video.

You see, I once was one of them. Back when my kids were still in school, I had the same mentality. I was away from my kids so much that I just didn’t know how to be with them.

I hope this is an encouragement to the moms out there who are feeling that their kids are a burden. It doesn’t have to feel that way, and it shouldn’t.

I'm Shelly, a Christ-following, homeschooling Mom of eleven children ( okay, not ALL children. My oldest is 23.) I met my husband right after graduation, and we've been together ever since. Though my life can be hectic at times... okay, ALL the time, I wouldn't change it for anything.

  1. The most sensible advice I have heard lately! I am always saddened by the “can’t wait till my kids go back to school” comments one hears at summertime and this situation is even worse because all of our lives are at stake. If anything should make one appreciate their family and enjoy the time to be together it is now. But, I can see where institutionally schooled children and families just don’t have the skills of how to be together. Many people can hold it together enough to make it through a weekend but the day to day interaction is skill as are all human interactions. As someone whose children have never been to school or even babysat by anyone, I don’t think I appreciated this fully until hearing your advice. So, thank you for helping me be a bit more empathetic to school families. I really hope that some of those families will make the pleasant discovery that they actually enjoy being together as a family and decide to home educate as a way of stepping into the new life that awaits us all. Thank you!
