Self-Education Is a MUST for Homeschool Parents

After 11 years of homeschooling, I’m convinced that self-education is key…not just for the children, but for the parents, as well.

Be an example for your children of what lifelong learning looks like. Be curious. Read. Research. Learn how to do things. Never depend on others to tell you what is important to know.

In short, do everything you’ve been trying to impress upon your children, ESPECIALLY in this day and age.

I'm Shelly, a Christ-following, homeschooling Mom of eleven children ( okay, not ALL children. My oldest is 23.) I met my husband right after graduation, and we've been together ever since. Though my life can be hectic at times... okay, ALL the time, I wouldn't change it for anything.

  1. Have you heard of the book Apostate The Men Who Destroyed the Christian West by Kevin Swanson? I think you’d find it a very interesting read.

  2. Hello Shelly! I’m a youtube follower of yours but I had to find your blog to comment (I don’t use social media accounts). I wanted to strongly recommend a book to you call “Ten Ways to Destroy the Imagiation of A Child” by Anthony Esolen. He is a brilliant author and I think you would enjoy that book. He digs deep into the truth of how the school system and mainstream society has destroyed children. I love your videos and your blog! Keep it up and God bless!
