The Problem with Trendy Homeschooling

Look, I’m all for the advertisement of homeschooling. I’m just not comfortable with the vilification of its most crucial aspect – the home.

I'm Shelly, a Christ-following, homeschooling Mom of eleven children ( okay, not ALL children. My oldest is 23.) I met my husband right after graduation, and we've been together ever since. Though my life can be hectic at times... okay, ALL the time, I wouldn't change it for anything.

  1. You just said things I have said for years, as well. I think a silver lining of the pandemic could be people creating homes out of what thus far may just have been houses. It is a long time in coming since we have generations now of people who have never had any time spent at home. You have to be home to make it one. Rather than just focusing on pride and the look of our houses, we need to really think about the function – not just the home office which has received so much attention lately , but the ways in which we function as families in our homes. I hope people take this opportunity and make their houses into true homes in every sense of the word. Thanks for another thought-provoking video.
