The 3 Phases of Homeschooling

Being a mom of many has its perks when it comes to homeschooling. After being at this for 11 years now, I’ve begun to notice a natural transition of learning between age groups, and I’ve been able to use that to my children’s advantage.

Conventional schooling has kids using the same learning method from Kindergarten to 12th grade, but I think most people would agree that the needs of a 6-year-old are not going to match those of a 16-year-old.

Am I right??

How to Deal with HOMESCHOOL BURNOUT

As the holidays approach, so does an unfortunate side effect of the constant busyness of homeschooling – burnout.

Believe me, burnout is no joke. Left “untreated,” it can lead to anger, hurt feelings, and rash decisions.

And contrary to what you might believe, no one is immune. The key is having the tools to deal with it.

Using Curriculum As Your Tool Rather Than Your Master

Having the right curriculum can either make or break your homeschool. Am I right? Getting sucked into the belief that your homeschool resources of choice must be used as written is one of the most debilitating things that can happen to your homeschool routine.

While some homeschoolers feel perfectly at home using life as their curriculum, most of us prefer to at least have something we can fall back on. Unfortunately, it can be far too easy to get so hung up on staying on track, doing every single activity, and covering every single page that the freedom that homeschooling should bring will feel like an unattainable feat.
