Today’s video was short and sweet and was made with everyone who has emailed and messaged me in mind. If you’ve messaged me in some format and are still waiting for me to respond, this video is for you.
Last night I did my first livestream in well over 6 months! Phew! I was worried about how the wifi connection would be in this house. Turns out that it was fine!
If you missed it, you can still watch the playback on my channel. My friends in the chat gave so much good advice for helping kids who are having difficulty with memorizing their times tables.
Although any subject can be easily covered with relaxed homeschooling, my absolute favorites to approach in this manner are social studies (history, geography, civics, etc.) and science.
Today on my channel, I shared how we tackle social studies with ZERO textbooks. Let me tell you, when I was in school, I HATED history. Now I’ve realized that it wasn’t the subject. It was the mind-numbing textbooks we had to use.
I love homeschooling. 🤗
A few days ago, I happened to see a screenshot of some back-to-school advice that someone shared. Written specifically for the parents of those registering their kids for kindergarten, I have no reservations about the fact that the author meant well.
I was appalled and astonished to see that this advice proved what I was saying the other week about the schools usurping parental authority This post, on the other hand, is suggesting that you hand it over willingly.
No usurpation required.
