Let’s Talk About What’s Actually Classified as Homeschooling
This is the last post/video I’ll be making on this topic (unless it becomes necessary), but I just wanted to share with you this fantastic article on deciphering what is classified as homeschooling and what is not.
The author, Tina Hollenbeck, is so thorough, and she perfectly described WHY the distinction is important.
I'm Shelly, a Christ-following, homeschooling Mom of eleven children ( okay, not ALL children. My oldest is 23.) I met my husband right after graduation, and we've been together ever since. Though my life can be hectic at times... okay, ALL the time, I wouldn't change it for anything.

All about who is paying and who is in control of the content . I understand some people don’t care about the state being in control , but many of us do . Thanks for speaking out.
Hello. I left a message in an older post and perhaps you may not have seen it. I don’t have an email address for you and I do not use social media, with exception of YouTube. Just wanted to let you know that YouTube is not disabling your comments. Some time ago I had a similar problem with videos that I was uploading. Then I realized that the problem was in my settings. I went back and changed the setting to all of my videos and this enabled the comments again. I hope this helps.
Back in the spring they said it was over the pedophile scandal on YouTube, and they disabled comments on all channels with children. Eventually, everyone’s comments came back, except mine. I tried re-enabling them myself multiple times, and it didn’t work. I emailed them and asked why. They said my channel was “high risk,” despite the fact that my kids are in less than 5% of my videos. I emailed them again last week, questioning why other channels can have kids in every video and still have comments, while my videos that are just me talking, can’t. At first they made it sound like they could help, but today I got an email that said this:
“Our internal team checked and they are unable to re-enable your comments. This can be hard on your part. I feel what you feel. But this is their decision.”
They gave no reason why, but I know it isn’t because of what they originally said. My kids aren’t even in my videos. It’s very frustrating.
I understand. Thank you for explaining. I did read a posting about the matter and do appreciate them protecting minors. Unfortunately, it does close up dialog with your viewers.
Thank you for your videos. I’ve only watched about three of them since I just found you last week.
The thing is, my comments being disabled has nothing to do with minors. If that were true, channels with kids in every video should have disabled comments, but they don’t. They’re just using that as an excuse for censorship.

I did reply. YouTube is definitely disabling them. They just emailed me today, confirming it. I posted the email on Instagram.

Did they say why? That is so strange. I have seen videos that are by far way more controversial than the ones you are presenting.
