How to Simplify and Save with All-in-One Homeschool Curriculum

All-in-One Homeschool Curriculum

As a mom of 11, there are two things that allow me the sanity and the finances to homeschool- simplicity and frugality.

Now I don’t claim to have all the answers, but after spending about nine years in this homeschool life, I’ve come across some fantastic resources that fulfill those two requirements when it comes to curriculum.

Whether you’re a traditional homeschooler, prefer unit studies, or like to gather things as you go, having access to a quality website that offers great customer service, a variety of resources, and competitive prices will enable you to not only homeschool, but to homeschool well.

Affordable all-in-one homeschool curriculum

(Disclaimer- I was compensated by Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op for writing this post. All opinions are entirely my own.)

That’s where Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op comes in.

If you’ve never visited this website before, I urge you to do so soon. The Homeschool Buyers Co-op has an award-winning selection of all-inclusive homeschool curriculum, unit studies, supplements, and additional teaching resources.

As a relaxed homeschooler with an affinity for unit studies, I cannot stress enough how much of a relief it is to me to know that all of our subjects can be covered with just one curriculum. For those of you who aren’t quite comfortable enough to forego the textbooks, Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op offers lots of tried and true all-in-one curriculums that are all-inclusive. Additionally, there are so many supplemental teaching resources available that I feel like a kid in a candy store whenever I visit the site.

Today I’m going to share just a little taste of what Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op offers.

Unit Studies

The Weaver Curriculum

Unit studies are such a natural, holistic way to learn, and when it comes to homeschooling resources, The Weaver Curriculum is the cream of the crop.

Written for Pre-K through 12th grade, this curriculum is a biblically-based unit study curriculum that uses the same daily Bible theme for all students and creates age-appropriate lessons for each child.

What this means is that, although a family may have a wide span of ages, each child will be learning the same things but on different levels.

Each volume represents one year of lessons in subjects such as:

  • Bible
  • Science
  • Geology
  • Geography
  • Language arts
  • Health
  • Art.

The cohesiveness of these unit studies is a beautiful thing.

Intellego Unit Studies

Affordable unit studies

I’m going to be upfront and say that, until recently, I had never heard of these before. After reading up on all of the topics offered, however, Intellego unit studies are now on my homeschool mom wish list!

These unit studies are geared for students in K through 8th grade, and I absolutely love their byline:

“Inspired by the multiple intelligences of every child.”

That is so up my alley!

This secular curriculum was written in response to the complaints of homeschoolers who said that so much curriculum is just plain boring. To remedy that, Intellego unit studies offer the following features:

  • Quality curriculum that sets high expectations for students
  • Engaging lessons that encourage active learning
  • Curriculum that teaches from multiple viewpoints
  • Multisensory activities that involve more than just reading and writing
  • Easy to use, low-prep curriculum
  • And so much more!

All-in-One Traditional Homeschool Curriculum

Lifepac

all-in-one homeschool curriculum

Back before we began this relaxed homeschooling journey, Lifepac was our go-to curriculum for math and high school science. It’s simple, to-the-point, and easy to understand.

Lifepac is a Christian worktext curriculum written for students from K through 12th grade that is available in individual subjects, or as an all-in-one homeschool package for every subject. Advantages of this no-nonsense resource are:

  • Flexibility- Students can work at their own pace.
  • Biblically-based- All lessons and text promote a Christian worldview and are grounded in scripture.
  • Economical pricing- Compared to most other traditional textbook curriculums, Lifepac offers a Christian education at a fraction of the price.
  • Portability- Since these are worktexts, there are no heavy books to lug around.

Horizons

All-in-one homeschool curriculum

While Horizons is another curriculum I have never personally used, the more I communicate with other homeschool moms, the more I hear this name mentioned.

Created for Pre-K through 12th grade, this resource is a colorful workbook curriculum that is filled with consumable lessons and hands-on activities. As with Lifepac, Horizons is also available individually or an an all-in-one package.

Some beneficial features of this curriculum are:

  • A Christian world-view
  • Spiral learning- learning that focuses on introduction, review, and reinforcement
  • Colorful curriculum that will keep visual learners engaged
  • Hands-on learning- an effective way to solidify what’s been covered in the workbooks

Horizons is definitely something to consider!

Additional Teaching Resources

Discovery Education Streaming Plus

supplemental teaching resources

Of all the types of resources I’ve listed here, this one would be my children’s favorite, hands-down. There’s just something about turning off the lights, popping some popcorn, and enjoying a video together that is also educational.

Am I right?

This supplemental teaching resource offers thousands of videos covering:

  • Language Arts
  • Math
  • Social Studies
  • Foreign Languages
  • Science
  • And more!

Discovery Education Streaming Plus has been described as being like having every single DVD from the library in your home.

I can see why.

While this is just a sampling of all that Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op has to offer, I hope I’ve given you an idea of the rich abundance of materials to be had.

By now, you might be wondering where frugality enters the picture. What if I were to tell you that Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op is free to join and offers group rates for all of the resources I mentioned, plus everything else on their site??

The All-in-One category alone has savings up to 93%!

Why don’t you head on over there, and see what they’ve got for your homeschool?

Your homeschool curriculum shopping just may never be the same again.

  1. I’ll check this site out – I’m constantly amazed by how many different resources and websites there are! It’s hard to keep track of it all. You know?

Do you have a suggested method for tracking resources and websites?

    1. If I want to remember a website it I usually just bookmark it on my laptop. For resources, I’ll either keep a list in my homeschool notebook, or I’ll save it to Pinterest. I’m not a fancy spreadsheet kinda gal. 😉

  2. Unit studies are such an excellent choice. Traditional schools that broke up subjects in to just math, or just reading, etc. miss so much richness that could be engaging the kids!
Thanks for doing the work of finding all these resources!
